This past Friday I was interviewed for the Shadow Spark Podcast, an excellent podcast from my publisher, Shadow Spark Publishing. The interviewers, Erika McCorkle and Valerie Storm, asked me about my upcoming book, Mr. Penny-Farthing, writing long-term relationsihps in fiction, and strategies for balancing different genres in one book. Along the way we talked about the Swifian topic of baby eating, cadaverous soups, and favorite bagels.
It’s weird, but it all ties together.
The episode should land in December, before the publication of Mr. Penny-Farthing.
Live Reading Announced
I have my first live reading event at noon on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Doubletree by Hilton in Cherry Hill, N.J. as part of Philcon, the Philadelphia Science Fiction Conference. I’m super excited to read from Accursed Son at one of my favorite conventions! There will be books for purchase at the reading, but I don’t have many copies on hand, so first come-first served.
Preorders for Mr. Penny-Farthing
If you’ve read Accursed Son and crave more steamy Armand and Vonnie action, the second book in the Martyr’s Vow Series, Mr. Penny-Farthing, will be available for preorders on Wednesday, Nov. 15 on Amazon. If you don’t like preordering, you can buy a paperback or eBook copy of Mr. Penny-Farthing starting Dec. 15.
No pressure.
Current Projects
I’m particpating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo for you cool people) and working on writing Book 3 of the Martyr’s Vow Series. Armand and Vonnie reconnect with the Legion of the Lamb and go monster hunting, but this time their actions lead to dire consequences. I’m almost halfway through my 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo, but I suspect the book will have a longer word count. They always do, those wordy rascals!
I signed a contract for a short story that will appear in Shadow Spark Publishing’s upcoming anthology, Not Your Grandma’s Cozy, a collection of cozy-themed stories that will soothe you like a cup of chamomile tea. I don’t want to reveal too much about the story at this point, but it is cozy fantasy. Make of that what ye will.
On that note, keep writing if that’s what you’re into, and stay weird.
