Celebrated another birthday today in what was a really difficult month. I’m not one for kvetching in public, but damn. The last 30 days were a doozy. Like the Ninth Circle of Hell doozy. Today was different. I slowed down. Relaxed. My wife made me my favorite Armenian meal and we got a coconut birthday cake. I also squeezed in some revisions to a short story I’m submitting next month.
In writerly news, The Ocean Hugs Hard is out in the world and garnering some pretty good reviews. Check it out on Goodreads and add it to your TBR pile or write a review if you’ve read it.
I submitted Blood Family, the third book in The Martyr’s Vow series, to my publisher in July, and that’s going through edits. The cover for Blood Family is finished and I’ll reveal it in November.
Summer has been a real hellacious bitch, so I’m looking forward to getting back in the classroom. I’m going over my lesson plan for English composition and it’s a whole new semester with new readings. Should be interesting: Christopher Hitchens, Malcolm Gladwell, Roxane Gay, Pete Rojas.
I’m prepping for the next novel: the fourth and final book in The Martyr’s Vow series. Tons of research await me in autumn, but I found a great coffee shop to write in, so there’s that.
Stay tuned and be well.
