The Noctambulist

The world is on fire and finding good news is a challenge with each passing day. Writing and promoting anything seems trivial now, but the writer must continue creating and telling their stories. The first draft of “The Noctambulist” is back from the first round of beta reads and the comments are positive! Not only that, but the second round begins in two weeks and I’m excited to see how this story is received.

It’s probably the most disturbing story I’ve written, filled with nightmares, blood, and body horror. I can’t wait until this one is out in the world with Shadow Spark Publishing’s Dreamcaught anthology in June.

For those of you who adore scary illustrations, here’s the artwork for “The Noctambulist” by Claire Leslie. Check out her work.

Behold! Mr. Sandman, or the Hat Man of urban legend, who plays a prominent role in “The Noctambulist.” When Mr. Sandman visits you at night, he doesn’t bring pleasant dreams, but tempts your dark impulses.

Other Writing News

Writing The Book of Wine and Sorrow, the fourth and final novel in The Martyr’s Vow series is unerway. This one is a real challenge. Wrapping up Armand and Vonnie’s storyline while taking them to a fresh new setting and tossing them in the middle of a chaotic plot is no task for mere mortals. Some things I can say: The book is set in Armenia, where Armand and Vonnie go for their honeymoon. The antagonist is an oligarch who ensnares both of them with his rather macabre power. There are more nods to ancient Armenian mythology, legends, and monsters. Look for Barkev, Armand’s faithful Aralez, to make an appearance.

That’s all I can reveal now. More stuff coming soon. I promise.
